The editor and on-device tools

The Videotory editor and the tools at /tools/specs, /compress, /vertical, /cover, /gif and /audio run entirely in your browser. Your videos, images and audio are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. When a tool hands a file to the editor, it is passed through your browser's local storage on your device and deleted once the editor opens it.

The optional AI morph transition in the editor is off by default. If you enable it and enter your own endpoint, two still frames per cut are sent to the service you choose; we don't receive them.

Reel downloader (/tools/reel-downloader)

When you paste a link, the link is sent to our server so it can look up the public video on Instagram. The video then loads from Instagram directly to your device. We do not store the links you submit or the videos. Our hosting provider ([HOSTING PROVIDER, e.g. Vercel]) may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, time and requested URL) for security and operations for a limited period.

Instagram connection (/tools/my-reels)

If you connect your Instagram account, you sign in on Instagram's own page — we never see your password. With your permission (instagram_business_basic), Instagram gives us an access token, which we store only in a secure, HTTP-only cookie in your browser. When you open My Reels, our server uses that token to fetch your profile name and your media list from Instagram and passes it to your browser. We don't store your token, profile or media on our servers.

Deleting your data: click Disconnect on the My Reels page to delete the token cookie. You can also remove Videotory from Instagram under Settings → Apps and websites. To ask us anything about your data, email [CONTACT EMAIL].
